I understood the assignment

And now I get to do it full time! 🙌🏻❤️ It really was 5 years ago this month that we started focusing on growing this business. Leia was 9 months old, this business was about to take off in November 2016 & I could really see my dreams coming true.
.
Once we started upcycling vintage embroidered linens & creating really unique designs I realized we needed some help - there’s no way I could dedicate all the time to sewing AND designing while this community was growing at a rapid rate. Hiring Arleen to sew was the best decision I ever made. I still remember the phone convo with her in the Dollar Tree parking lot. I’d just spent the money I’d made on my last batch of bonnets buying organizational materials HOPING she’d say yes to working with me. I knew she was sewing part time for another company, that her sewing skills were unmatched & my fingers were crossed she wanted to help me grow this bonnet business 🤞🏻❤️
.
Thankfully the $85 I spent that afternoon wasn’t all for nothing - now 5 years later we employ Arleen full time with sewing, I work full time designing/marketing, Janelle works part time cutting embroidery & organizing custom bonnets, one of my best friends hand cuts all the specialty fabric, Marc ships & manages our finances & Mom loves me enough to trim all our bonnets in her free time.
.
What started as a desire to find an affordable, quality, well fitting, & unique bonnet for Leia turned into the business of my dreams. We now produce close to 850 bonnets a month all made from donated, vintage, & upcycled materials. I understood the assignment & then took it to the next level 🙌🏻 with lots of help from people (like you guys!) who love what we’re doing. The bonnets in this video are some of my favorite ones I’ve designed - some I wish I could design again (like Hadley!) & one comes back next release - which one is it? 🤔 Also peep the new embroidery 😍❤️🙌🏻
