I'm thrilled to finally share my exclusive patterns with brands. After a lot of effort, I've found a way to offer my artwork in a way that feels authentic and fulfilling to me, while also providing value to the brands I work with. As I've said before, the real accomplishment isn't about whether or not my patterns from this month's release sell - it's about the fact that I've made it this far. The hard work that's gone into organizing everything, creating a solid license agreement, and bringing my patterns to life is what truly excites me as an artist.
I've been getting a lot of questions on IG about what happens to patterns that aren't purchased exclusively by brands, and it's a great question! Some of you have been asking about the Tiny Petals pattern and when it'll be available as fabric and bonnets. I love that you guys are so obsessed with that print - it's really nostalgic for me, as it reminds me of my earliest designs.
So, what happens when a pattern doesn't get purchased and the exclusivity period is over? It gets turned into all sorts of SAA stuff - bonnets, fabric, phone cases... the list goes on. And that's what makes this so rewarding for me. The pattern gets to be loved, whether it's by another brand or my own. Definitely beats just sitting on my iPad doing nothing.
Stay tuned for February 1st, when we'll see which patterns sell out, and if not, be ready for a wave of beautiful new arrivals on our website!
