Part 4 : Unapologetically Me: Getting Over My Fear of Failure

I apologize for the delay in releasing the next part of this series. Running a small business can be unpredictable and I had to deal with some unexpected challenges. However, I believe that being a small business owner means being able to adapt to changes in life. I appreciate your understanding and continued support.

In my previous post, I shared some changes that I have made to our business, which have allowed me to rekindle my creative spark. In this post, I am excited to delve deeper into each of those changes. And in my upcoming post, I look forward to sharing my vision for the future of SAA.

One of the most substantial changes that I have implemented is incorporating new textiles into our production process. Although we still utilize donated, vintage, and upcycled materials, the exploration of contemporary textiles has enabled us to design a more affordable product and broaden our horizons by delving into pattern creation.

I'm thrilled that this year I have successfully achieved my long-awaited dream of integrating my artwork into our business. Drawing upon my extensive experience in graphic design, my passion for painting, and my love of textiles, I have confidently pursued my goal of creating surface pattern designs. We have so many bonnets available in our Shop Exclusive collection and we're already in the process of developing a wide range of fabrics and wallpapers for you guys to enjoy.

With those changes, I thought that a good old rebrand of the business was necessary as well as a newly redesigned website. The redesign happened organically, and while I still have some tweaks to make, I am so happy with the progress we've made so far.

As a lot of you know when we redesigned the website we made room for my brand Elleia Made which means we have have also expanded our offerings to include a wide variety of products featuring my unique designs. From adorable baby clothes to colorful stickers, from stylish journals to charming mugs, we now offer a diverse range of merchandise. Through our Shop Curated collection, we have partnered with a reliable print-on-demand company that enables us to bring these products to you guys while still staying within our means with this small business. So whether you're looking for a special gift or just want to treat yourself, we have something for everyone.

And lastly - Pinterest has been an incredibly effective platform for driving traffic to our website. I have found that consistent pinning is key to maintaining that traffic. Unfortunately, due to my break from blogging, I also took a break from pinning. However, I am fully committed to being consistent again and have set a specific goal to reach one million monthly visits by the end of this year. I believe that by dedicating more time to Pinterest and creating fresh, engaging content, we can achieve this goal and continue to grow our website's traffic.

I truly love this business and appreciate the time it has allowed me to spend with my loved ones and for myself. While it can be challenging to stay consistent, I know that my mental health is a priority. In my next post, I'll share my thoughts on everything that's happened this year so far, offer freebies for you to download, and share an art print for purchase.

Remember, your mental health is crucial, and it's okay to take things slow if you need to. Everything will still be waiting for you. Thank you all for being patient with me!

I fell in love with watercolors when my son Elliot was born. That was over 10 years ago & since then I have picked up a paintbrush numerous times which has now morphed into an Apple Pencil. Along with SAA I am a surface designer for other brands as well as our own line of merchandise. This blog is a place for me to share every stroke of my "brush" & let you know what's up & coming
