It felt really good to sit down at my sewing machines yesterday and do something creative. I made two more scrappy bonnet panels from other hoarded fabric scraps later that day. Is that what we should call them? Scrappy bonnets? Not sure I like that… makes them seem discarded when really they’re a lot of work & deserve that recognition… I shall stew on this a little bit 😂 anyways, I’m excited to make more of these. I have ever single scrap left over from the Tanya floral & I might dig into it today 😍
Remember my thrift adventure a week or so back? I found this cute little eyelet runner tucked in with the lace curtains. Even if I don’t have a design in mind for something when I see it out thrifting I always grab it because I never know when two textiles will come together. This runner just so happened to pair perfectly with a vintage cross-stitch I’d just found on Etsy - then paired with some donated eyelet & BAM ❤️ you’ve got the most beautiful little batch of OOAK bonnets
If bonnets went to the club 💃🏻🕺 this is how they'd dance 😂 Seriously though, I love all the videos made with this audio & I wanted to join in on the fun! I only wish I could have styled these bonnets on Lily! There are these two gorgeous OOAK embroideries & two other lamb ruffles on the website right now The really special OOAK bonnets don't last long so be sure to go check 👀 sometimes they hang out for a while & sometimes they're gone instantly. I have SO MANY MORE to share...
Just listed these gingham beauties on the website 😍☀️ don’t forget to check out their flips because all of our Soleil Hats are reversible. Also, these are all ready to ship! So zero TAT! They’re perfect for those sunny fall days out apple picking 🍎🌳 or if you’re like my kids - in the pool! 💦🥶 you won’t catch me in the pool anymore! But our kids are little fishies this year & love it 🐠
🚂 TOOT TOOT! ♻️ Oh how I wish I could have put these on Elliot - I absolutely love these little train overalls. I mean, Lily could rock them as well BUT knowing Elliot’s love for trains right now (he’s WAY back into Thomas again) it would be fun to have a photo of him framed in these little overalls. So I am going to live vicariously through one of you - I can’t wait to see who gets this outfit! . So, what’s fun about this one is that you can pick ANY style SAA bonnet from our basics collection - I just thought this blue one went really well with the outfit. But you can get any color, any style, any size. To W - I - N this 6-12 month outfit (SAA bonnet, onesie, shoes, wooden train & paci clip) just do the following:
I bought these naturally hand dyed fabrics remnants a long while back from my amazingly talented friend Jess who owns @wild_fire_water_ 🌿 I remember it vividly because she was having a story sale to help fund a family emergency at the time 💪🏻 I love supporting my friends whenever I’m able & I knew I could put her gorgeous hand dyed textiles to good use.
If you haven’t noticed - I love photographing babies & Lily is a dream to dress especially when I get to put her in the best of the best 😍 I love @dannieandlilou ‘s linen clothing so much & my favorite thing are the bubble rompers. They just dropped their AW23 collection & this powder check is dreamy. It’s bittersweet putting Lily in these rompers
It’s true! Mom had the idea of making embroidered bonnets when we first opened this shop in 2016. We invested in a very expensive embroidery sewing machine & some patterns thinking we were going to do machine embroidery on bonnet panels. I still remember those first days pouring through & saving designs, photoshopping them onto bonnets - I was just so excited about this new idea we had. And then the machine stopped working...
I just love Charismas Joys sweet little lady in this bonnet! And what's amazing about it is it's the LINING! She looks SO cute in her "two bonnets in one!" You can see her in the "bonnet side" made from a donated vintage floral yardage in the middle photo. I am SO GLAD we make them reversible because that means we save so many more textiles from waste! ♻️❤️
