For years, I’ve dreamed of creating a space where all of my creative passions could live side by side - bonnets, painting, digital art, and surface pattern design. It’s something I’ve tried to piece together in different ways over the years, but it’s taken nearly seven years to land on something that feels right - finally something that feels like me.
I’m so proud to introduce Bloom by April - an extension of Sweet As April, and the next chapter of my creative journey.

Before bonnets ever came into the picture, art was always at the center of my life. I graduated with a degree in Art History and spent my early adult years working as a freelance graphic designer as well as with high-end design firms. Art and design were my language long before I became a mother - and though motherhood has been my greatest joy, it also meant setting aside parts of that creative identity for a while.
Now that my children are getting older and my days are beginning to open up again, I feel like I’m finally able to bloom, too. Not all at once, but slowly - in small, meaningful ways. Finding pockets of time to paint, to learn, to create again.

Bloom by April is where those pieces come together - a space for me to share my artwork, offer digital products, and teach others how to do what I love to do. Whether you’re a small business owner wanting to expand into digital products, painting, or print-on-demand, or simply a mother looking to reconnect with your creativity, I hope you’ll join me there.
This new space will grow with time - filled with tutorials, resources, and inspiration for artists and dreamers alike.

And I’m thrilled to share that my very first e-course, Paint to Pixel, is already in the works and set to launch in January 2026. A teaser is now live on the Bloom by April page, and I can’t wait to share more details soon.
This new chapter feels like coming home - a return to my roots as an artist, and a celebration of how far the journey has taken me.
With love and creativity,
Carrie
