Almost all of our bonnets are made from preloved clothing, curtains, donated material and vintage fabrics. Most are 1-10 of a kind, some we can make more of. 

Please keep in mind that the bonnet pictured may not be the exact bonnet you receive. The embroidery, floral pattern, lace, and pattern may differ depending on where from the garment the bonnet was cut out from. Also, colors can change from one screen to the other. I try to photograph the bonnets in natural light and keep the colors as true as I can.

Shipping Policy:

Please note that we cannot combine orders. All orders are processed within 4 to 7 days after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.

Domestic and Internation Shipping Rates and Estimates

We ship worldwide. All products are shipped via USPS First Class Mail or USPS First Class International Mail. Shipping charges for your order are based on weight, and will be calculated and displayed at checkout.

Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. Sweet as April is not responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer.

How do I check the status of my order?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.

If you haven’t received your order within 3 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at orders@sweetasapril.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.

Refunds, returns, and exchanges

We accept returns up to 30 days after delivery, if the item is unused and in its original condition, and we will refund the full order amount minus the shipping costs for the return.

In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email us as soon as possible at orders@sweetasapril.com with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. We address these on a case-by-case basis but will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution, either fixing the bonnet or sending a replacement.

Bonnet Measurements & Sizing:
First measure from jawbone up around the head (above the forehead) and back down to the other side, then the second measurement from one temple to around the back of the head to the other temple. If you are in between sizes I recommend sizing up.
Newborn 11.5" and 10" (this size is meant for a fresh outta the oven baby, the tiniest of tiny bonnets)
0-3 months 13.5" and 12.25"
3-6 months 14" and 12.5"
6-12 months 14.5" and 14
12-18 months 16" and 14.5"
18-24 months 16.5" and 15.25"
2t-4t 18.5 and 16
IMPORTANT: (recommend sizing up in the RUFFLE brimmed bonnets, no need to size up for the regular sun brimmed bonnets)

.Soleil Hat Sizing

To measure head circumference, place a measuring tape snugly around the head at the widest part, above the ears. See image below.

The Soleil Hat is meant to fit snugly base on head measurements below. If you are measuring towards the upper end of the size, or prefer a looser fit, sizing up may be a good option

Care Instructions:
Bonnet & sun hats must be hand washed in cold water, hung to dry. Cool iron if needed.

Sleep & Carseat Safety: 
Although we sometimes show sleeping babes in bonnets to our Instagram feed I do not recommend leaving a baby unattended sleeping in a bonnet. We recommend taking bonnets off after a photo is snapped during naps and to not have babes wear them in while the car. Please use all safety precautions with bonnets since they do tie around the neck.

Satin Linings: 

Any bonnet in a release (excluding anything brimmed) can be lined with satin. After you’ve made your purchase you simply respond to your order confirmation within 24hrs telling us that you’d like to choose the option of a satin lining. Please note that it will add a one week turn around time and we may be in contact with you if the trim on your bonnet will change (depending on fabric availability)

If you would like to have an eyelet, ruffle brim or sun brim bonnet you can purchase a custom bonnet when they release (which is every two weeks), request a satin lining along with some wishes for your bonnet (colors, prints and such). I will then email you choices for fabrics to choose from and we will refund you the difference to the retail amount (as if you bought it at a regular release) The way the brims are made it is not as easy to reline them but we’re happy to work with you to get a satin lined brimmed bonnet made from fabrics that I have in stock.

Why doesn't my bonnet look like the listing photo?
When working with preloved materials, especially the embroidered ones, we cannot photograph every single bonnet. So the layout of the print or embroidery may differ on your bonnet in comparison to the listing photo. But what I try to picture are the colors. If all the colors are the same with each bonnet and they look similar I will only photograph the smallest size. Usually, the bigger the bonnet the more print/embroidery you're going to get. If you are unhappy with the look of your bonnet you're able to return it within 30 days of purchase if it is unused and in sellable condition.

Materials:
Since our bonnets are made from preloved clothing I cannot always tell exactly what the material make up is. Please use great care when laundering the bonnets

Wholesale:

 A lot of shops message me interested in wholesale and with the amount of work we already do I can't see it happening anytime soon. If we ever do open orders for wholesale I will be sure to notify everyone on Instagram

 

Returns and Exchanges:
If a bonnet is sent back to me in a sellable condition within 30 days of purchase I am able to refund your order (not the shipping) but you may have even better luck passing it onto another family by selling it on our buy/sell/trade site

Cancel Your Order:
You may request a cancellation within 12 hours of ordering. Please provide your order number in your email subject.

Address Changes:
Please respond to your order confirmation email with your address change immediately.


Turn Around Time:
All of our bonnets ship within 4-7 business days and our Soleil Sun Hats are made to order with a 3-4 week business day turn around time. The custom bonnets can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to finish from the date we RECEIVE your fabric. We restock weekly every Friday. We also do collaborations with other brands and flash sales, all of those updates can be found by following Sweet As April on Instagram

Tracking:
Once your order ships you should receive an email with tracking information attached. Please allow up to 24 hours for USPS to update its location.

Sweet As April Studios:

Fabric is washed with Arm & Hammer Free and Clear for sensitive skin so there is no scent to the fabric. The bonnets are made, packed and stored in houses that are pet-friendly and smoke-free. Sealed plastic bags are used to store the bonnets and they have little to no contact with pet dander. If you wish to wash your bonnet before wearing we recommend you follow the bonnet care instructions that are provided with your packaging.

Lost Package or Incorrect Address:
We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages.  Please ensure your shipping address is correct prior to placing your order as we cannot alter it once your order is placed. If your package is sent back due to an address error or post office error we are not responsible for getting your package back to you. We will notify you that is has come back and you're welcome to pay again to have it shipped. If you are not wanting to pay for it to be shipped again we are happy to refund your order.
