All About Sizing

What size should I get?
Every baby is different so we recommend that you measure for the perfect fit. For a newborn baby, our smallest bonnet would be anything knit in size newborn or newborn ruffle/eyelet bonnet. Our bonnets tend to run big but fit for a long time in each size range.

What about ruffle brims & sun brims?
The ruffle/Eyelet brims, because of the way they are made, fit about 1/4" smaller than our regular bonnets. If you're at the top of the size range we recommend you size up. For sun brims you do not need to size up but because the trim doesn't "hug the face" they may seem a bit roomier.

How about your knit bonnets?
We based that pattern on our cotton/danish style bonnets so the sizing is pretty similar. But do keep in mind that knit fabrics are stretchy which means a size range may last even longer because they're meant to fit close to the head.

If ordering an eyelet/ruffle brimmed bonnet I recommend sizing up as they are about 1/4" smaller because of the way they are made
To measure head circumference, place a measuring tape snugly around the head at the widest part, above the ears. See the image below.
The Soleil Hat is meant to fit snugly based on head measurements below. If you are measuring towards the upper end of the size, or prefer a looser fit, sizing up may be a good option
