Can we make reversible Bonnets? Why heck yes we can!

Beautiful Black Sisters

I just love Charismas Joys sweet little lady in this bonnet! And what's amazing about it is it's the LINING! She looks SO cute in her "two bonnets in one!" You can see her in the "bonnet side" made from a donated vintage floral yardage in the middle photo. I am SO GLAD we make them reversible because that means we save so many more textiles from waste! ♻️❤️

.
So, about linings - our non-embroidered bonnets are ALMOST always reversible (pixies are not reversible). But there are times when the fabric does not allow us to make the best bonnet we can AND have it be reversible. In which case we opt for a plain lining. But for the most part, like a lot of the other bonnets on the website right now, we try to save more textiles from waste by picking a fun print or something that compliments the trim for the inside - then you guys can flip it for something different.
.
As for embroidery, the sides of the bonnets are thicker so there's more to fit into the trim/tuck of the bonnet & they really need to have a thin lining fabric on the inside. It is also the case sometimes where the embroidery falls right at the child's ear which would not be very comfortable when the bonnet was flipped since the embroidery is often raised & bumpy. For those reasons (& many others which I will not bore you with!) we always (even for customs) line the embroidered bonnets with thin white or beige cotton.
.
We will have our next drop of bonnets on July 27th at 6 pm EST. We offer satin linings for those who would like their bonnets lined for curly hair - all that info is also linked in our profile under FAQs. As always I am happy to answer any questions you have about bonnets, linings, upcycling, fit, care instructions... you ask it & I will do my best to answer! ❤️ Love & bonnets, guys!
